TOTAL WASTE MANAGEMENT

Ordering the right skip size!
Selecting the right skip is a very important decision. There is nothing worse than having a skip that is too small to fit all of your rubbish in, as you could end up doubling your costs by having another skip. We have put together a comprehensive guide to help you make the right choice first time every time.

We Offer -
MINI SKIP :: The Mini skip is suitable for small indoor renovation and outdoor garden clearance projects. The Mini skip can hold between 10 and 15 bin bags full of waste .

MIDI SKIP :: The Midi skip is the second smallest kind of skip you can hire. It is suitable for most DIY jobs, including replacing old kitchens or digging footings for conservatory bases and garden landscaping.
A Midi skip can hold between 20-25 bin bags.

BUILDERS :: This is our most popular skip size. It is suitable for large indoor renovation projects, garden clearances and building work.

ROLLON - ROLL OFF (18-40 cu. yd) :: Large containers for the removal of bulk waste. Ideal for office clear outs, shop fit waste, timber and other bulky, lightweight material. Instead of using 2 or 3 builder’s skips, why not have 1 container? Roll on Roll off bin can not be sited on a public highway they have to be on private land.

Asbestos Disposal & Hazardous Waste :: Asbestos and other hazardous wastes (including: paint, tyres, gas bottles, fridges, freezers, TVs, fluorescent tubes, light bulbs and vehicle batteries) cannot be placed in standard skips and must be disposed of specially. SITE WASTE MANAGEMENT PLANS / SWMPs

Every year the construction industry produces almost 1.5 tonnes worth of waste for every individual living in the UK.  In a bid to tackle the ongoing issue of onsite waste management, the DTI, in April 2007, introduced Site Waste Management Plans as a voluntary code of practice. Site Waste Management Plans (SWMP’) outline a clear structure for the reduction, recycle and disposal of waste at every stage of a construction project.

In April 2008 the SWMP becoming a legal requirement for all building costs over £300,000.

How does a SWMP help you?
First and foremost, formulating a SWMP will ensure your duty of care obligations are met, and will also assist you in the responsible management of materials and waste, meaning cost savings for you, and more protection for the environment.

However SWMP’ ill also mean ALL waste queries can be answered easily and promptly as well as providing valuable information for future projects.

Not only can we assist you throughout the formulation of your Site Waste Management Plans, either producing it for you with in-depth consultation, or just offering expert advice along the way…. we can also provide ALL of the waste and recycling services required to adhere to it.

For more information regarding your SWMPs, call 0121 553 6800 or email sales@needaskip.co.uk

GRAB LORRIES & TIPPER HIRE

Tipper Lorries can be used if you have, for example, a JCB on site and there are large quantities of waste to be removed. The lorry arrives on site and then is filled straight away. Often the lorry will then tip the waste and return to the site for continuous loads until all the waste has been removed.

Grab Lorries are basically tipper lorries with a grab arm attached. This means the waste can be loaded into the lorry without the need for extra machinery on site, providing of course the waste is within the reach of the grab arm.

Both tipper lorries and grab lorries are ideal where there is a large volume of waste to be removed in a short amount of time, or where space on site for skips is limited.

For more information, or to obtain a quotation for either a Grab Lorry or Tipper Lorry for your next upcoming site, please contact our Operations Department on 0121 553 6800.

SITE CLEARANCE

In addition to skip hire, we offer additional Wait & Load and Site Clearance services.

Wait and Load - This is useful where a permit cannot be obtained due to location or access restrictions. Our lorry will drop the skip and wait while it is being filled, lifting and removing it as soon as it is filled.

Site Clearance
- For site clearance we can provide roll on-roll off containers that have opening doors at one end allowing you to walk in to fill the skip. These are particularly useful where you have a large amount of waste already on the ground that you do not want to lift and drop into a conventional skip - very easy to load from ground level.

Full Site Clearance -
We also offer a full site clearance service where we supply the skip and staff to clear your site - just give us a call to discuss your requirements.

Please feel free to give us a call if you have any waste or site clearance requirements that you feel can't be met with a conventional drop and collect skip service. With over 20 years experience, we haven't yet had a request that we could not support!
